Florian Sebastian Podgoreanu

Florian Podgoreanu has taught at the Department for Wind & Percussion Instruments at the University Mozarteum Salzburg since 2013. His concert activities have taken him to Romania, Austria, Germany (including the Berlin Philharmonie), Italy, Switzerland and the UK. In addition to his solo and chamber music work, he sings as a baritone in the vocal quartet "Cantosonor".
Born in Romania in 1985, Florian Podgoreanu began his musical education in his hometown of Ploiesti and soon achieved national and international recognition, receiving prizes for piano and composition in Romania, Belgium, Austria and Italy (among others). He was admitted to the Music Lyceum George Enescu in Bucharest at the age of 15 to study with Prof. Ileana Busuioc. In 2003, he began his piano studies at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, where he completed his Bachelor's degree with Prof. Cordelia Höfer-Teutsch and his Master's degree with Prof. Imre Rohmann in 2012, both with distinction.
Florian Podgoreanu gained further training and inspiration in masterclasses with such renowned musicians as Serghei Dorensky, Lory Wallfish, Lisa Leonskaya, Viniciu Moroianu, Trevor Pinock and Rolf Dieter Arens.
