Support from big names

The programme enjoys support from two outstanding artists: the internationally celebrated percussionst and faculty member at the Mozarteum University Salzburg Martin Grubinger and the rapper, author and poetry slammer Yasmo. Both of them will join the Musik-Multis as "Sound Supporters", offering the participants valuable ideas for their further artistic development.

Musik-Multis

The programme has grown and developed out of the successes of similar programmes in recent years. "Musik-Multis" has taken place in smaller formats several times since 2021/22. The pilot year saw a cooperation between the Mozarteum University and six schools in the Salzburg region, giving school pupils the opportunity to become "Music-Multipliers" (hence the name), meaning that they work as "disseminators" to pass on what they have learnt to other students. With the support of teaching students from the Mozarteum, pupils develop their own musical projets in their schools, from composition workshops and mini-concerts through to band nights and right up to professional music recordings. The aim is to recognise talent early on and encourage those students to follow a path into the arts or music teaching, and thus to enrich the activities in their schools through creative initiatives. The video below offers a insight into the successes this programme has produced in the past.

Cooperation with the local education authority

An important step towards establishing this project long-term is the cooperation with Salzburg Educational Authority. This partnership strengthens the connection between schools and the promotion of young artists. While the Education Authority creates the structural and organisational framework, the Mozarteum offers artistic and pedagogical expertise. This collaboration creates a sustainable base from which musical-pedagogical talent can be recognised early and supported effectively.
