Nomination for the DER FAUST theater award for Ebru Tartıcı Borchers

Directing graduate Ebru Tartıcı Borchers is nominated for the prestigious German theater award DER FAUST 2023! The award honors outstanding artistic achievements that reflect the diversity of the theater landscape in Germany.

DER FAUST has been awarded since 2006 by the German Stage Association in cooperation with the federal states, the Cultural Foundation of the Federal States and the German Academy of Performing Arts, and since 2022 the prize has been awarded in 12 different categories. In addition, the two special prizes "Lifetime Achievement Award" and the "Perspective Award of the Federal States" can be awarded for forward-looking artistic or cultural policy projects.

Ebru Tartıcı Borchers completed her directing studies at the Mozarteum University in 2022 and has already directed at the Tiroler Volksschauspiele, Stadttheater Gießen, Staatstheater Mainz, Theater Osnabrück, Junges Staatstheater Karlsruhe and Kosmos Theater Wien, among others. With her production of AMSTERDAM by Maya Arad Yasur - most recently at the Oldenburger Staatstheater - Ebru Tartıcı Borchers is nominated for DER FAUST in the category "Staging Drama" (stage and costume design by Sam Beklik/scenography).

Further nominations went to Rainer Sellmaier (studied stage design with Herbert Kapplmüller) together with Manuel Braun and Jonas Dahl in the category "Space" for ARABELLA, to Janna Pinsker (regular guest teacher at the Thomas Bernhard Institute) together with Wicki Bernhardt in the category "Performer*in Theater for Young Audiences" in FAMILY CREATURES and to Luise Voigt (guest teacher 2019) in the category "Staging Acting" for DER MEISTER UND MARGARITA.
