The Mozarteum University mourns the loss of an extraordinary educator, artist and colleague who was known for his discipline and openness, contributed much to the institution and remained connected to the university as a curious spirit even years after his retirement.

On June 29, the Department of Scenography invited to the annual tour, work show and summer party. Diverse insights into the studies, the studios and the created and ongoing projects were complemented with open studios, installations, exhibitions, films and live music.

The project MOZART-REALTIME QUINTETT offers an audiovisual experience in which the music of W. A. Mozart is realized as a synesthetic, interactive visualization by means of computer-generated real-time graphics. With the aim of creating an active playful and at the same time creative access to the work of Mozart, Mozart's Clarinet Quintet (KV 581) was realized as an interactive fulldome environment. With the help of a touch interface, the visitors can intervene in the audiovisual composition and change it.

In the doctoral programme of the inter-university institution Wissenschaft & Kunst (W&K), doctoral students research and work closely networked at the interface of science and art.

The Sir Ian Stoutzker Prize of the Mozarteum University was offered for the first time in 2019 and annually honors a student personality who knows how to convince with musical creative power, poetry and a unique charisma. The sponsor of the highly endowed award (20,000 euros) is the successful British businessman and philanthropist Sir Ian Stoutzker, who founded the organization Live Music Now together with Yehudi Menuhin in 1977.

The aim of the project is to develop professional opportunities and artistic co-productions exploring the ways diverse theatre traditions can effectively converse and contribute to quality artistic diversity and creativity in Europe. The objective of the Pl.ETA is therefore also to create a new artistic value out of the interaction between various theatre traditions and specialties.

Until 1 May, interested musicians from all over the world can register for this year's International Summer Academy, which has a new look and arouses anticipation for the summer. The visual change goes hand in hand with a further development of the content.
