Munich-based Austrian artist Christian Lettner has long been regarded as one of Europe’s most in-demand drummers. Immediately following the completion of his studies at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz in summer 2000, he was head-hunted by Klaus Doldinger and his band Passport, with whom he has not only toured in Europe, Brazil, Morocco, Korea and New Zealand, but also recorded 7 CDs.
Christian Lettner is known for his versatility and performs in many differnt formations, collaborating with musicians and ensembles that include: WDR Big Band, Eric Person Trio, Pee Wee Ellis, Randy Brecker, Till Brönner, Majid Bekkas, Karl Ratzer, Martin Grubinger “Percussive Planet”, Max Mutzke, Benjamin Schmid, Torsten Goods, Berlin Philharmonic, Peter O´Mara, Adrian Mears, Nils Landgren, Johannes Enders, Joo Kraus, Ola Onabule, Josef Hader, Max Herre, Sasha, and many more.
Christian Lettner began teaching as a Senior Lecturer at the Mozarteum University Salzburg in the Winter Semester 2022.
He has held a Professorship in Jazz Drums at the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts since 01.12.2021.
