The International Summer Academy of the Mozarteum University starts anew and expands with ARCO - Art, Research and Creation Opus and the Summer Academy Baroque (in Siena). The program connects teachers, students and musicians from all over the world in Salzburg and establishes cultural connections across Europe.

With the new building of the Mozarteum University at the Kurgarten (UMAK), the city of Salzburg, the cultural area around the Mirabell Gardens and the Paracelsus Baths get a new player and neighbor. The official laying of the foundation stone on February 27, 2023 at 11 a.m. initiated the implementation of a future-oriented project that invests in the university education and research location Salzburg, in the networking of science and art and in Salzburg's core competence in the field of culture.

The Senate of the Mozarteum University joins the protests against a closure of the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra with all vehemence. The RSO Vienna forms an indispensable building block of the Austrian cultural scene and functions especially and above all in the field of new music as an important commissioner and premiere performer.

What is the sound and rhythm of a city? How do people meet in this or another place? Where do they feel free? How does urban architecture inscribe itself into our bodies? How do we walk in the city? The University Mozarteum will conclude the three major anniversaries of the Orff Year with an extensive festive weekend from July 2 to 4, 2021. The ceremony on Friday will focus on the possibilities opened up by inter- and transdisciplinary approaches in artistic, pedagogical and scientific contexts.

In autumn 2024, bass-baritone Lisandro Abadie, actress Hanna Binder, conductor Christiane Büttig, visual artist Annette Fauvel, guitarists Giuseppe Feola and Bozhana Pavlova, cultural and media scientist Paul Feigelfeld, composer Laure M. Hiendl, pianist Lei Meng, soprano Allison Oakes and violist German Tcakulov will take up their positions as university professors at the Mozarteum University. We are looking forward to the collaboration!
