The management of the Mozarteum University has succeeded in acquiring an endowed professorship for the first time. This is an entirely externally financed university professorship in violin awarded to an internationally outstanding artistic personality. Maxim Vengerov, one of the world's most celebrated violinists, is coming to Salzburg to work at the Mozarteum University for three years from the beginning of the winter semester 2019/20. The public is invited to experience his masterclasses on October 14, 2019 in the Solitär and on December 9, 2019 in the Great Hall of the Mozarteum Foundation.

Awards for excellent master theses 2020/2021 Since the academic year 2016/2017, the Mozarteum University has been awarding the "Prize for excellent master theses". This award recognizes outstanding theses of graduates who dedicate themselves to their chosen topics in an innovative, original, unusual or particularly sustainable way. Six finalists out of a total of 19 participants from the Mozarteum University competed yesterday with an overall artistic concept in the string and wind instrument categories for the coveted The Sir Ian Stoutzker Prize 2023, which is once again endowed with 20,000 euros this year. The prize honours an outstanding student personality who knows how to impress with their musical creativity, poetry and unique charisma. The outstanding winner is 25-year-old cellist Ema Krečič.
