Instrumental – Vocal – Performance: Invitation to the Open Stage!

Since 2021, the Baroque Summer Academy of the Early Music Department of the Mozarteum University has been taking place in the city of Siena in Italy as part of the renowned Accademia Musicale Chigiana. For one week, the department's team of lecturers offers intensive masterclasses.

The opera class of the Mozarteum University Salzburg was invited to present what is probably the most famous of all operettas at the new, currently much-acclaimed Kunstkraftwerk Bergson in Munich. During the carnival season, three performances are on the programme at the impressive new event centre in the west of Munich. Under the musical direction of Kai Röhrig and directed by Volker Wahl, students will stage Johann Strauss's ‘Die Fledermaus’.

Together, we explore modes of decolonial ecologies and ecological reparations through community-based artistic practices that address sustainability and the entanglement of climate, social, racial, & environmental issues.
