    Nude / Nude
News … Home News Nude / Nude Book publication as a tribute to the nude drawing as an art form 28.02.2022 News The Department of Scenography shows works from 20 years of nude drawing at the Mozarteum University in the bibliophile artist book "Akt / Nude", which has just been published by Verlag für moderne Kunst (VFMK). With texts by Henrik Ahr, Noémie Anneg, Stefan Bachmann, Thomas Ballhausen, Elisabeth Gutjahr, Lou Hinderhofer, Yvonne Schäfer and Thorben Schumüller. Edited by Stefan Bachmann. Editor Stefan Bachmann Idea, conception & graphic design Stefan Bachmann, Lou Hinderhofer, Yvonne Schäfer, Thorben Schumüller Text contributions Henrik Ahr, Noémie Anneg, Stefan Bachmann, Thomas Ballhausen, Elisabeth Gutjahr, Lou Hinderhofer, Yvonne Schäfer, Thorben Schumüller, a.o. Publisher VfmK Works that stage the nude "AKT / NUDE" is more than a collection of 20 years of nude studies at the Department of Stage Design at the University Mozarteum Salzburg. It is a complex artist*s book dedicated to nude drawing as an art form. The scenographic view and the proximity to theater, film and performance provide decisive impulses. On more than 400 pages, the approximately 520 works of young artists* from the years 2000 to 2020 often show unconventional and experimental approaches that go far beyond the academic study of nature and in a sense put the nude on stage. Nude drawings, impressions of teaching situations, texts and fragments by students and teachers, and thoughts of a nude model enter into a multi-layered relationship with each other in a space of ideas: "In a state between strength and weakness, I bare my soul as well as my body. The nakedness of my soul makes me forget the nakedness of my body." (Noémie Anneg, dancer and nude model) Artistic processes between perception and imagination: a touching encounter with nudity, with the fragility of the body and human existence. rector Elisabeth Gutjahr is enthusiastic about the publication, which she was happy to support from the beginning: "From the students' reports, one learns that for many nude drawing means a special study experience. Concentrated viewing goes far beyond critical analytical looking. It demands time, deepening vision, immersion in light and shadow, in the play of gravity with the body, with its devotion and posture. The line touches and contours the person being looked at, a closeness is created, a wordless knowledge is shared, discreet and abstracted and yet very concrete, as if sketched out by life."   A huge treasure Stefan Bachmann, Lou Hinderhofer, Yvonne Schäfer and Thorben Schumüller are responsible for the idea, conception and graphic design of the publication. "20 years of nudes represents a huge treasure that needed to be lifted and brought out of the drawing cabinets into the light of day," says editor Stefan Bachmann, who teaches, among other things, nude drawing at the Mozarteum University. AKT NUDE comprises a "best of" the work of some 70 students, created in about 900 hours per week. "Our compilation does not follow a chronological narrative. Rather, the artist*s book offers an experimental space in which different approaches and handwritings relate to each other anew in a lively discourse." (Stefan Bachmann)   ISBN 978-3-903572-56-0 Language: German/English Hardcover, 30 x 23 cm, 432 pages, 623 illustrations in color, 30 illustrations in black and white Akt / Nude Stefan Bachmann, (Eds.) / Lou Hinderhofer / Yvonne Schäfer / Thorben Schumüller Akt / Nude  VFMK Publishing House for Modern Art 2022 Set Design Gallery Skip slider Jump to slider start

No News. From 5 to 8 November 2025, the Mozarteum University Salzburg will host the annual congress of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires et Musikhochschulen (AEC) for the first time. This year's conference on the topic "The Sound of Future Music Education" will offer renowned experts and music institutions a platform to reflect on the future direction of music education with around 450 participants. Contactiris.wagner@moz.ac.at The central themes of the conference include: How can the role of teachers and institutions in music education be shaped in such a way that leadership – i.e. guidance, responsibility and participation – becomes effective? How can issues such as wellbeing, health and sustainable training concepts ("Healthy Musician in a Sustainable World") be more firmly anchored in musicians' training? What role do digital education and artificial intelligence play in the context of music education – and how does this change the relationship between learners, teachers and the reality of the music world? What does music education look like in a global context: What impetus is provided by international cooperation, transnationality or networks for education, research and advocacy? ("Leadership and Advocacy in a Global World") The conference programme includes keynotes, workshops, brainstorming and networking formats, as well as live concerts and meetings with representatives from all over Europe – from universities and music schools to student organisations and funding institutions.
