As places of democratic education, universities and schools are particularly called upon to take a critical look at social change, to analyse the opportunities and challenges of strengthening democracy and to work towards strengthening democratic education. This volume brings together educational and social science, media, cultural and musicological perspectives on democratic education in schools and universities. The ten contributions by academics from teacher training universities in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern are based on a joint state-wide lecture series organised by the Education and Democracy Network.
