Maximilian Kießkalt is a singer and voice teacher who moves comfortably between classical, jazz, pop, and ensemble singing. His teaching centers on a holistic, hands-on approach to building voices, shaped by both his own performing career and his experience across a wide range of vocal styles.
He grew up at the Musisches Gymnasium Salzburg before studying at a conservatory in Vienna and later completing his degree in Instrumental and Vocal Pedagogy at Mozarteum University Salzburg, where he majored in voice under Regina Prasser and specialized in jazz and pop under Eva Klampfer. He has continued to build on that foundation through masterclasses in vocal technique, performance, art song interpretation, and vocal physiology.
Kießkalt taught classical and jazz/pop voice at regional music schools across Upper Austria and served as a vocal coach at the Chorakademie Salzburg until fall 2026. After holding a teaching position in voice pedagogy at Mozarteum University Salzburg during the summer semester of 2026, he joined the faculty there as Senior Lecturer that September. He also leads vocal training within the choral conducting program at the regional music school in Altheim.
His teaching is inseparable from his life on stage. As a soloist and ensemble singer — including a decade with the a cappella group Piccanto — he has toured internationally, recorded several albums, and appeared regularly on radio and television, with performances alongside the Vienna Philharmonic and the Janoska Ensemble, as well as at the Salzburg Festival.
Since 2019, he has also worked as a music producer and mixing engineer — an ear he brings straight into the studio and the classroom alike, sharpening how he listens to and works with each student's voice, whether one-on-one or in a group.
