Pianist and chamber musician Patrick Leung has been a collaborative pianist at Mozarteum University Salzburg for over a decade. A committed partner in duo and ensemble settings, he is closely associated with major chamber music projects and the core piano-violin repertoire.
It was his love of the chamber music of Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms that first drew Patrick Leung to Europe. He is fortunate to have encountered wonderful people who strongly influenced his artistic development as both a pianist and violinist. After completing his studies in violin performance, he obtained a teaching position as a collaborative pianist at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, where he has been coaching students of Klara Flieder, Rainer Schmidt and Lukas Hagen for over a decade. He also teaches chamber music at Pre-College Salzburg.
Patrick Leung is a sought-after chamber music partner and enjoys longstanding intensive collaborations with Klara Flieder, with whom he gives duo recitals regularly, including performances of the complete cycles of Piano-Violin Sonatas by Mozart and Beethoven. He has initiated various projects at the Mozarteum University, including performances of all the Beethoven Piano-Violin Sonatas in one concert with students of Rainer Schmidt, as well as the complete piano chamber music by Schumann and Brahms.
