Senior LecturerDepartment String Studies
Patrick Leung came to Europe through his love of the music of Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms to play chamber music on the violin and piano. Since completing his violin studies, he has worked as a piano correpetitor at the Mozarteum University, where teachers such as Klara Flieder and Rainer Schmidt strongly influenced his artistic development. He initiated various projects at the Mozarteum University, including performances of the complete Beethoven piano-violin sonatas in a concert with students of Rainer Schmidt's violin class, Schumann's song cycles Dichterliebe and Liederkreis with students of Annelie Gahl's violin class, and the complete piano chamber music of Johannes Brahms. He seeks to refine discernment and remain true to himself through his intensive collaboration with musicians of different generations.
