Lithuanian pianist Eglė Staškutė is Senior Lecturer and Collaborative Pianist in the Department of Strings at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. A prizewinner at several international competitions, she performs widely as a chamber musician and soloist and is regularly engaged as a répétiteur at international masterclasses. She has taught at the Mozarteum since 2016.
Born in Vilnius, Lithuanian pianist Eglė Staškutė received her musical education at the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Art. She was awarded prizes at the Balys Dvarionas International Piano Competition, the Vytautas Landsbergis Competition and the J. S. Bach Piano Competition.
She continued her studies at the Mozarteum University Salzburg with Rolf Plagge and later with Jacques Rouvier, completing her degrees with distinction. In 2011 she was awarded the Hildegard Maschmann Scholarship, presented annually to an outstanding piano student in Austria. Artistic guidance through masterclasses with Pavel Gililov, Itamar Golan, Ivry Gitlis and Paul Badura-Skoda further shaped her development.
She has received additional prizes at international competitions including Villa de Capdepera (Spain), Rosario Marciano (Vienna) and the Mozart Prize (Salzburg).
Eglė Staškutė has performed at venues such as the Großer Saal of the International Mozarteum Foundation, the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Festival Musica Mundi (Belgium), Iş Sanat Concert Hall (Istanbul), the Łańcut Music Festival, the Lithuanian National Philharmonic and the Beethovenfest Bonn. As a soloist she has appeared with the Vogtland Philharmonic, the Mozarteum University Symphony Orchestra, the Salzburg Philharmonic and the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra.
As a chamber musician she performs regularly throughout Europe, collaborating with artists including Gustav Rivinius, Liv Migdal and Thomas Riebl.
She is regularly engaged as a répétiteur at international masterclasses, including the International Summer Academy of the Mozarteum University, IMS Prussia Cove, the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein, the International Summer Academy in Cervo and the Hindemith Foundation in Blonay.
Since 2016 she has been a member of the faculty at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. She has taught piano as a compulsory subject since 2018 and has served as Senior Lecturer and Collaborative Pianist in the Department of Strings since 2021.
