Simone Irmer

Feldenkrais Practitioner (Focus: Feldenkrais for Musicians)Institute for Coaching & Career
As part of the Career Centre, the International Mozart Competition and the International Summer Academy at Mozarteum University Salzburg, Simone Irmer offers functional bodywork for musicians based on the Feldenkrais Method.

Simone Irmer has been a certified Feldenkrais teacher since 2000 and trained with Mia Segal, Moshe Feldenkrais’s first student and long-time assistant.

Since studying music and dance education, she has focused on the relationship between music, posture and movement. She has worked intensively with the Feldenkrais Method since 1995 and, drawing on her own musical practice as well as her experience teaching international advanced training courses, has developed specialised concepts for instrumentalists and singers. Her work is informed by a profound understanding of the demands of technique, performance, interpretation and authenticity.

Simone Irmer works with musicians in both individual and group settings, as well as with orchestras, ensembles and choirs. She has been a lecturer at Mozarteum University Salzburg since 2008, a Feldenkrais coach for participants and jury members of the International Mozart Competition since 2014, and a lecturer at the International Summer Academy since 2017.
