Werner Beidinger
Werner Beidinger studied music education with piano and Elemental Music Pedagogy as principal subjects at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts before continuing his studies in music and dance education at the Orff Institute of the Mozarteum University Salzburg. Following his studies, he joined the teaching staff of the Orff Institute for seven years and also taught at music schools in Bavaria and at the Anton Bruckner Private University.
In 1994, Beidinger was appointed Professor of Elemental Music Pedagogy at the University of Potsdam. Since 2003, he has served as chairman of the Orff Schulwerk Gesellschaft Deutschland. For around twenty years, until 2023, he was editor of the professional journal musikpraxis, published by Fidula-Verlag. Alongside his editorial and academic work, he publishes widely on music and dance education and is an internationally sought-after speaker and workshop leader, with teaching engagements throughout Europe, Asia, Australia and the United States.
