Rainer O. Brinkmann is an "ExOperTe", dramaturge and music theater educator at universities and artistic institutions. He is known for his research into the scenic interpretation of music theater and his commitment to opening up the genre to children and young people. He wants to make their energy and awakening passion for a positive vision of the future accessible to cultural institutions.

Rainer O. Brinkmann has worked as a theater teacher, actor and director (KonzerTheater, Theatercompanie Voland, theater 3 hasen oben). Since 1984 he has been involved with mediation and participation in music theater, has published extensively on the subject and founded the Institute for Scenic Interpretation of Music Theater. His teaching activities took him to universities in Germany and abroad. As production manager of numerous children's and youth projects, he anchored the subject of opera in cultural education. From 2001 - 2018 he built up the mediation work at the Berlin State Opera and was dramaturge and director of the Young State Opera. Since 2014 he has headed the "Music Theater Education" course at the Mozarteum University. At the Salzburg Festival he worked as a curator, consultant and dramaturge in the youth program "jung&jede*r". Since 2022 he has been project manager at the HMTMH Hannover in the project n[o]ice! - Develop, compose and perform contemporary opera.
