Klaus Kircher

Teacher of Jazz & PopDepartment of Music Education Salzburg

Klaus Kircher is a lecturer in Jazz and Pop at Mozarteum University Salzburg. Alongside his teaching, he has worked as a freelance musician on double bass and guitar since 1985, performing across jazz, pop and theatre, and leading workshops and coaching for bands.

Kircher studied double bass at Mozarteum University Salzburg before establishing himself as a freelance musician. In addition to his concert work, he regularly performs as a musician in productions at the Salzburg State Theatre and the Schauspielhaus Salzburg. Over the course of his career, he has collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Willi Resetarits, Peter O'Mara, Hans Rettenbacher, Bill Ramsey, The Platters, Hazy Osterwald, Wolfgang Puschnig, Hansi Lang, Wolfgang Ambros, Schiffkowitz, Peter Kraus, Angelika Kirchschlager, Harry Ahamer, Thomas Stipsits and Josef Hader. Since 2003, he has taught Jazz and Pop at Mozarteum University Salzburg, where he combines his extensive experience as a performing musician with his work as an educator.
