Ji-Hye Jung

Senior Lecturer in PianoKeyboard Department

Ji-Hye Jung performs as a soloist and chamber musician. Her international career began when she won second prize at the 10th International Mozart Competition in Salzburg in 2011. She has been a lecturer in piano at the Mozarteum University Salzburg since 2019 and completed her artistic habilitation in 2023.

She has performed as a soloist with the Camerata Salzburg under the baton of Dennis Russell Davies in the  Großer Saal of the Mozarteum Foundation, in the Berlin Philharmonie with musicians from the Deutsche Oper Berlin and at the international music festival "Young Classic Europe" in Passau, the Donauforum Linz, the Seoul Arts Centre and the Sejong Arts Centre in Seoul. She has given numerous solo recitals in Italy, Austria, Korea and Germany, and has performed the complete piano works of Mozart for four-hands with duo partners Ji-Soo Yoo and Jung-Eun Kim across the course of several piano duo cycles.

Ji-Hye Jung received her piano training at Sunhwa Art Middle School and Seoul Art High School, completing her undergraduate studies at Ewha Womans University in Seoul. She studied with Andreas Weber at the Mozarteum University, obtaining her master's degree (with honours) in 2009 before studying as a postgraduate for a further two years. She has drawn further musical inspiration from her contact with Sergei Dorensky, Andrzej Jasinski, Robert Levin, Gilead Mishory and Angela Hewitt.
