For her, interdisciplinary dialogue with related fields is an essential component of music theory. With this in mind, she developed interactive opera projects in Würzburg in collaboration with the opera school and the music education department. The project was awarded the Opus Klassik prize as part of the “100für100” initiative and established itself in subsequent years as a permanent fixture of the annual project program.
As a percussionist, she is also active in various artistic contexts. A particular focus of her work is the brass band scene, which is gaining increasing visibility and significance in German-speaking countries as well. In this field, she is involved with, among others, 3BA, the reigning German champion. Furthermore, she is interested in vocal music: her work encompasses both historically informed improvisation in the Renaissance style and contemporary approaches such as VocalPainting. Her artistic activities are complemented by regular engagements as a piano accompanist.
Her research interests include historically informed music theory (e.g., Baroque composition theories, figure theory, and the aesthetics of general rests) as well as music-theoretical and didactic questions with current relevance to the academic discourse (e.g., instrumentation listening as a type of exercise for ear training).
