From 13 July to 8 August 2026, the International Summer Academy at Mozarteum University will once again welcome around 500 young musical talents from across the globe to Salzburg. A special highlight is the masterclass with Silvana Bazzoni Bartoli – the only voice teacher Cecilia Bartoli has ever had. Members of the public are warmly invited to attend the classes as guest listeners.

Under the artistic direction of Univ.-Prof. Hannfried Lucke, Vice Rector for the Arts, Mozarteum University Salzburg will once again become an international meeting place for young musicians this summer, welcoming participants from more than 50 countries, including Venezuela, Argentina, Thailand, the Philippines, Mongolia and Chile.

Across four course periods, around 500 young musicians will be offered a comprehensive programme comprising 50 masterclasses in eight disciplines. In addition to voice, piano and violin, participants can choose from organ, violoncello, viola, flute and clarinet. The programme is further enriched by two Young Excellence classes and a wide range of complementary offerings, from performance training to yoga.

Thanks to the generous support of private donors and companies from Salzburg and the surrounding region, as well as the long-standing partnership with the Lions Club Pongau Millennium, numerous participants have once again been able to receive scholarships this year.

"The International Summer Academy at Mozarteum University is, year after year, a place of extraordinary artistic encounters. Here, internationally renowned artists meet exceptionally gifted young musicians from around the world.

The Academy's success is built on the international reputation of its faculty and the outstanding quality of the artistic collaboration. When distinguished artists share their expertise, experience and individual artistic approaches with the next generation, the impact extends far beyond the classroom.

As a renowned institution with an international reach, the International Summer Academy at Mozarteum University Salzburg provides a unique setting for inspiring artistic exchange that leaves a lasting impression on generations of young musicians," says Univ.-Prof. Hannfried Lucke, Artistic Director of the International Summer Academy and Vice Rector for the Arts.

From 3 to 8 August 2026, professional singers of all voice types will once again have the unique opportunity to work personally with Maestra Silvana Bazzoni Bartoli in a masterclass dedicated to "the fundamental principles of vocal technique – the foundation of a long singing career."

Applications are open until 5 July 2026. Like all other masterclasses, this course is also open to the public. Cecilia Bartoli will once again be a guest of the Academy. Music lovers are warmly invited to attend the masterclasses as auditors. Day and weekly passes are available from the Summer Academy Office during opening hours: Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

The programme is complemented by numerous public concerts, including studio concerts, an organ recital, four faculty concerts held on Tuesdays, and four Saturday matinées featuring performances by the Academy's prize winners in the Solitär concert hall. Prizes for the outstanding participants of each course period are generously sponsored by the Cultural Fund of the City of Salzburg.

By invitation of the Schloss Höch Cultural Association, the Summer Academy will once again present three guest performances at Schloss Höch in Flachau, Salzburg's Pongau region. In addition, for the third consecutive year, the Academy will perform a special concert at the Mirabell Senior Residence.

A total of 52 distinguished faculty members will teach at the Summer Academy in 2026. New additions include pianist Claudio Martínez Mehner, cellist Vashti Hunter, and violinist Vlad Stanculeasa.
