In her laudatio, Salzburg State Governor Karoline Edtstadler praised Gutjahr’s visionary leadership: “Elisabeth Gutjahr led one of Europe’s most distinguished arts universities for eight years. Those years were marked by innovation, internationalism, integrity, and cultural responsibility. Above all, however, Elisabeth Gutjahr recognised that digitalisation should be seen not as a threat, but as an opportunity.”
Elisabeth Gutjahr’s commitment to Salzburg continues beyond her term as Rector. The music dramaturge, stage director, choreographer, and librettist serves on numerous cultural and academic committees and remains an influential figure in strengthening Salzburg’s position as a centre of culture and scholarship.
