In memoriam Michael-Werner Hornig

For many years, Michael-Werner Hornig shaped young artists with extraordinary dedication, artistic clarity and human warmth. His teaching conveyed far more than mere technique: he understood acting as an expression of personality, authenticity and musical thinking. Countless singers owe him a debt of gratitude for the decisive impetus he gave to their artistic careers and remember him as an inspiring teacher, an attentive mentor and a passionate theatre professional.

With the passing of Michael Hornig, the Mozarteum University loses a defining figure and a highly regarded educator. Our thoughts are with his family and all those who accompanied him on his journey. We will always cherish his memory with gratitude and respect.
