Hengqin International Mozart Competition for Young Musicians 2026
The Hengqin International Mozart Competition for Young Musicians 2026 (Piano) will take place between 30 October and 10 November this year. Registrations are open until 31 May 2026.

The prestigious competition is a cooperation with the Mozarteum University Salzburg and will be held at the Hengqin Cultural and Art Center in the beautiful coastal city of Zhuhai, China.
This year’s focus is on piano, with participants being divided into three categories according to age (max. age 24). The competition focuses not only on young musicians’ virtuosity, but also attaches great importance to their understanding and interpretation of classical music style. The Salzburg Chamber Soloists, globally renowned for their specialisation in Mozart’s works, have been appointed as the orchestra of the competition.
Zhuhai, a pearl of a city, and the Mozarteum University Salzburg join hands and sincerely welcome music lovers from all over the world to join in and celebrate youth, music and Mozart!
