12th place in the QS World University Ranking by subject

We are delighted to announce that our leading position in the international university rankings has been confirmed once again! In the renowned  QS World University Ranking by Subject 2025, published today, the Mozarteum University was ranked 12th worldwide, 9th in Europe and 2nd among institutions in the German-speaking countries.

The QS Rankings, published annually, rate the best universities in the world in a number of categories, based on academic reputation, employer ratings and research. Once again, the Mozarteum University has been highly ranked in all areas, underscoring the international standing of the university.

 “This ranking is a resounding confirmation of the exceptional quality of our students, faculty and staff,” was the enthusiastic response of Rector Elisabeth Gutjahr upon hearing the news. “It goes to show that we are setting a benchmark for arts universities worldwide – not only in the advancement and appreciation of the arts, but also in artistic research and innovation.”
