With the overture from Axur, re d'Ormus by Antonio Salieri, followed by Joseph Haydn's Sinfonia concertante in B flat major Hob I: 105 and the Prague Symphony in D major K. 504 by Wolfgang A. Mozart, Maestro Ion Marin and the Academy Orchestra of the Mozarteum University will also perform at the Mozart Week in 2024. The orchestra made its debut during Mozart Week 2023.

Radio tip
On 27 January, Ion Marin can be heard in the radio series Apropos Klassik in conversation with Gerti Mittermeyer on Ö1.

The Mozarteum University Academy Orchestra was founded in autumn 2022 with the generous support of Jovanka and Hans Porsche and is a beacon for the orchestral field. It is made up of 25 students who qualify for the individual positions in selection procedures. The members each form a permanent instrumental ensemble for one year, which performs with the best performers from the university's instrumental classes under the direction of experienced and renowned conductors.

Conducting students are also on the podium for individual concert projects. An example of this is the concert on 1 February 2024 in the Solitaire of the Mozarteum University. Myrto Gkekou, Félix Marest and Dou Huang will conduct the Mozart Week concert programme.
