The Institute for Equality & Gender Studies oversees the announcement and awarding of prizes for theses and qualification projects as well as funding for artistic/scientific projects in the fields of Gender & Queer Studies as well as Diversity Studies. This offer is intended to make visible the examination of gender- and diversity-sensitive as well as queer and feminist issues pursued at the University Mozarteum and, above all, to provide an incentive for young artists/scientists to deal with the subject matter.

GenDivers Award for theses and qualification projects in the fields of Gender & Queer Studies and Diversity Studies
The Institute for Gender Equality and Gender Studies at the University Mozarteum Salzburg awards prizes for outstanding student theses and qualification projects that deal innovatively with issues of gender and/or diversity. Prizes are awarded for scientific and artistic bachelor's, diploma and master's theses as well as dissertations that are committed to women's studies and address gender, power and domination relations, gender roles, 'queer' forms of expression of desire and/or the (de)construction of gender in the arts, sciences and society that reflect gender identities and diversity concepts (regarding sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, age, disability, etc.). The GenDivers awards are open to students of all fields of study and are endowed as follows: Bachelor's thesis: 300 € Diploma and Master's thesis or project: 500 € Dissertation: 800 € Application requirements Regular or completed studies at the University Mozarteum Salzburg. The submitted scientific or artistic thesis/project must be thematically related to women's and/or gender and/or diversity research and must have been submitted/presented at the University Mozarteum Salzburg in the period 01.12.2021-30.11.2022. Scientific papers must comply with the current guidelines for writing scientific bachelor's, diploma and master's theses, the guidelines for gender- and diversity-sensitive language as well as good scientific practice. A thesis/project can only be submitted once. For artistic master's theses or projects (lecture-recital, CD/DVD, film, theater productions, or similar), a written letter of motivation (approx. 800 words) must be submitted in which the artistic engagement with feminist, queer, gender- and/or diversity-sensitive aspects is clearly formulated and located in (current) scientific/artistic discourses of feminist research, gender & queer studies and/or diversity studies. digitized version of the written thesis or the written part in the case of artistic master's theses or projects audio or video recording of artistic master's theses or projects justified recommendation of the supervisor (max. one A4 page).
