Three very different printmaking workshops in Salzburg - the Grafische Werkstatt im Traklhaus, the Werkstatt Eva Möseneder and the Universität Mozarteum, Klasse für Zeichnung & Grafik - are celebrating Printmaking Day together. Printmakers acquire a treasure of knowledge and experience in the course of their practice. Different artistic concepts, which are to be realized as graphics, require each time a deep understanding of the intention of the work. Only from this arises the decision with which processes from the printmaking skills this can be achieved. The interplay of conceptual cleverness and printmaking practice is what makes the quality.
How is such experiential knowledge, gathered in one person, passed on in workshops? How can it be prevented from being lost? For three years now, such a transfer of knowledge between Eva Möseneder and Bernhard Lochmann to the next generation has been taking place in the printmaking workshop in the Department of Fine Arts & Design.
