Am Königsweg / A királyi úton / On the royal road by Elfriede Jelinek
Fri. 3.3.2023—Sat. 4.3.2023

Elfriede Jelinek's "Am Königsweg" is an examination of right-wing populism, Donald Trump's disastrous political practice and the helplessness of a society that cannot find an answer to the explosive spread of contempt for democracy and violence.

In cooperation with Freeszfe Budapest, in German, Hungarian and English.

Jelinek's textual surfaces oscillate between tragedy and the grotesque, pathos and vulgarity, creating a picture of a political-financial-capitalist complex that is morally at the end of its tether but nevertheless comes to power with force and endangers fundamental democratic values.
