The music theater project BaroqueLab presents the stage performance of "Dido and Aeneas" by Henry Purcell and the new music theater work by the French composer Henry Fourès, "Elissa", as part of the Baroque Summer Academy of the Mozarteum University in Siena.

A Year of Vibrant Musical Activity – Spotlight on the June 16 Concert in Vienna: The 2024/2025 academic year has been exceptionally dynamic for the guitar department at Mozarteum University Salzburg. Guitar students have taken part in a wide range of artistic and educational activities, reflecting the department’s vitality and high artistic standards. Among the most notable events is the upcoming concert on June 16, 2025, at the Italian Cultural Institute in Vienna, titled: “Vienna and Italy in Dialogue: The Guitar as a Bridge Between Two Traditions.”

With the beginning of the winter semester 2018/19, the Mozarteum University gets four more top-class professors*: Martin Grubinger for Percussion Instruments - Classical Multipercussion Instruments, Benjamin Kammerer for Piano and Piano Didactics in Innsbruck, Johannes Maria Staud for Composition and Corina Forthuber for Design: Technology. Since the beginning of the year, the project "Practicing Care" has been focusing on the transnational social responsibility of a university of the arts with a variety of activities. Exemplary for these activities is the awarding of an honorary professorship by the Senate of the Mozarteum University to the Belarusian flautist, pedagogue and civil rights activist Maria Kalesnikava, who was sentenced to 11 years of penal colony in her home country. Dorothee Oberlinger and Olga Shparaga, among others, will participate in the program of the ceremony on October 30.
