Marion Spingler has been teaching voice and supervising student teachers in voice at the Mozarteum University (Innsbruck Campus) since 2001. She combines extensive experience as a singer and vocal pedagogue, having performed at opera houses in Bonn, Essen, Cologne and Wuppertal, including in a production with Pina Bausch. She has also taught at music academies, universities and music schools in Germany.
Marion Spingler studied voice and vocal pedagogy at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin, where she completed her studies in 1985 with diplomas in voice performance and vocal pedagogy. In 1982, a scholarship enabled her to enrol as a guest student at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow.
From 1996, she continued her vocal studies at the Cologne Music Academy with Josef Metternich while also performing at opera houses in Bonn, Essen and Cologne. She attended masterclasses with Günter Leib, Ruth Berghaus and Harry Kupfer. A particularly formative period was her engagement in Wuppertal, where she worked in collaboration with Pina Bausch.
Alongside her performing career, Spingler gained extensive teaching experience, including in the university preparatory class at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music, at music schools in Neustrelitz, Grünwald and Neuried, and at the Cologne University of Education.
Since 2001, she has taught voice and supervised student teachers in voice at the Mozarteum University (Innsbruck Campus).
