Johanna Dumfart teaches diatonic harmonica and folk music subjects at Mozarteum University Salzburg (Innsbruck campus) and has been Professor of Styrian Harmonica at the Tyrolean State Conservatory since 2018. Alongside her teaching, she is an active freelance musician and a regular lecturer at folk music seminars. She studied voice at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz and with Robert Kreutzer in Klagenfurt, as well as Styrian harmonica, dulcimer and voice at Mozarteum University Salzburg. Before taking up her current appointments, she taught Styrian harmonica, dulcimer and breathing technique at the Upper Austrian State Music School from 2009 to 2016 and voice training at the Linz Music High School from 2011 to 2018. She has also worked in primary schools as a Mit-allen-Sinnen ("Learning with All the Senses") teacher.
