Josef Klaus Schellander

Klaus Schellander has been a lecturer in trombone, ensemble playing and brass didactics at Mozarteum University Salzburg since 1990. He also teaches at Musikum Salzburg, where he has been a member of the faculty since 1989. Alongside his teaching, he enjoys an active performing career as a soloist and orchestral musician. He is the founder of the Salzburger Blechbläserconsort and has appeared regularly at the Salzburg Festival with the ensemble. He also performs with Camerata Salzburg, the Musicaltheater Neuschwanstein and numerous national and international orchestras and ensembles. Schellander studied bass trombone (performance and pedagogy) at Mozarteum University Salzburg and the Berlin University of the Arts. He has also undertaken further professional training in biofeedback, the Alexander Technique and autogenic training.
