Located in the heart of Tuscany, this collaboration with the Chigiana Foundation of Siena is the result of a careful work to expand and design the Department of Early Music of the Mozarteum University, allowing the teaching of early music in a very special atmosphere, surrounded by the beautiful Renaissance buildings.

Since 2021, the renowned Accademia Musicale Chigiana, the summer academy of the Department of Early Music of the Mozarteum University, takes place in the beautiful city of Siena, Italy. There, the team of lecturers of the Department of Early Music will conduct an intensive week of master classes for talented and interested students from all over the world. In addition to classes, there will be concerts by students, faculty, orchestra projects and other activities. Special content this year is the performance of the opera "Dido and Enea" by H. Purcell in collaboration with the Department of Opera & Music Theater of the Mozarteum University, as well as a contemporary composition laboratory for early instruments, making this summer academy one of the most complete and qualified in Europe.
