The Mozarteum Chamber Choir is one of three vocal ensembles at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. It focuses on challenging a cappella music from all stylistic periods – from early music to classical and romantic works to contemporary compositions.

Current Projects
Wir widmen uns dem Thema „Oriens – das Aufgehen des Lichts“ und einem abwechslungsreichen Programm, das Musik verschiedener Epochen und Stilrichtungen miteinander verbindet. Werke von KomponistInnen wie Jonathan Dove, Ēriks Ešenvalds, Cecilia McDowall, Morten Lauridsen, Hreinn Sigurbjörnsson, Joanna Marsh, Jan Sandström und Roxanna Panufnik eröffnen Klangräume rund um die Themen Licht, Hoffnung, Gebet, Natur und innere Einkehr.
Die alten O-Antiphonen, ursprünglich Teil der Adventstradition, begleiten uns dabei als zeitlose Rufe nach Licht, Weisheit und Erneuerung. Über die Grenzen der Weihnachtszeit hinaus erzählen sie von der Sehnsucht nach Orientierung und vom Aufbruch in eine neue Zeit. So entsteht ein musikalischer Bogen, der unterschiedliche Klangsprachen von meditativer Ruhe bis zu eindrucksvoller Klangfülle miteinander verbindet.
Termine:
Die Ergebnisse dieser musikalischen Arbeit werden am 11. Dezember 2026 in der Kirche St. Paul sowie am 15. Januar 2027 im Großen Saal der Stiftung Mozarteum präsentiert.
