Hildegard Fraueneder, Dr.

Hildegard Fraueneder studied art history, history and philosophy in Salzburg and Vienna. In her research projects she deals with the post-war period in Austria, life after 1945 as well as with femininity and heroism as part of the interdisciplinary research project on images of women in history and art at the University of Salzburg. She participated several times in lecture series on gender studies at the University of Salzburg.

She took part in several congresses and symposia and lectures regularly in Austria and abroad. Frauenender is a member of the Senate Working Group at the University of Salzburg, a representative for equal treatment, a member of several curriculum and appointment commissions and since 2019 deputy head of the Senate of the Mozarteum University Salzburg. From 2001 to 2016 she was the head of the  gallery 5020.

She was a lecturer in art history at the University of Salzburg, for MultiMediaArt at the University of Applied Sciences in Salzburg and at the University of Artistic Design Linz. She has been teaching art and cultural studies at the Mozarteum University Salzburg since 1995.
