The starting point for the film NIGHT is the Fantasy in D minor by W. A. Mozart, perhaps the most played piano piece, at least among young music students, which inspired a cinematic narrative in which the composer's biographical approaches and musical elements of the composition were associatively transformed into a woman's nocturnal journey through a big city, played by Jenny Schily.

On October 13 and 14, 2022, the largest exhibition to date of the interdisciplinary and interinstitutional project Spot On MozART took place at the Mozarteum University - an exciting journey through 17 projects, including film premieres, interactive spaces, and a piano-playing industrial robot. The student of the Thomas Bernhard Institute of the Mozarteum University Giulia Giammona won the prize of the 20th Festival Körber Studio Junge Regie with her production "Penelope" yesterday on 9 June 2024. We congratulate her warmly!

Since the beginning of the year, the project "Practicing Care" has been focusing on the transnational social responsibility of a university of the arts with a variety of activities. Exemplary for these activities is the awarding of an honorary professorship by the Senate of the Mozarteum University to the Belarusian flautist, pedagogue and civil rights activist Maria Kalesnikava, who was sentenced to 11 years of penal colony in her home country. Dorothee Oberlinger and Olga Shparaga, among others, will participate in the program of the ceremony on October 30.

The spatial installation ALLEGRIA is an interdisciplinary, interpretative research on Mozart's Symphony No. 17 in G major (KV 129).

The biennial International Mozart Competition is one of the world's major music competitions. Since 1975, the focus has been on the work of the genius loci Mozart, whose work is constantly being rediscovered by the young generation of highly talented interpreters.
