Another piece of normality returned and the Mozarteum University hosted another alumni and emeriti gathering on June 30. We met amidst the exhibition "Achtung International - Salzburg and 100 Years of the International Society for New Music" in the foyer of the Mozarteum University for a drink. Matthew Werley gave a guided tour of the exhibition afterwards and the evening ended with a visit to Claudio Monteverdi's opera "L'incoronazione di Poppea".

The Institute for Open Arts at the Mozarteum University recently moved into premises at Franz-Josef-Straße 18 that were once occupied by the Austrian National Bank. An interview with Prof. Claudia Lehmann, who has headed the institute since 2023.

The only voice teacher Cecilia Bartoli has ever had is her mother, the soprano Silvana Bartoli Bazzoni. We are delighted to announce that from 4 to 8 August 2025, professional singers of all voice types will have the unique opportunity to work personally with Silvana Bartoli Bazzoni on ‘fundamental principles of vocal technique - the basis of a long singing life’ in a masterclass as part of the International Summer Academy at Mozarteum University. The guitar department of the Mozarteum University is starting spring 2024 with an extensive programme: students in the classes of Andrea De Vitis and Laura Young have the unique opportunity to showcase their talent at concerts in Italy, which are made possible as part of an Erasmus collaboration with the renowned Boccherini Conservatory in Lucca (Tuscany).

This year's Bella Musica tour promises an extraordinary highlight: for the first time, the original violin by W. A. Mozart will be presented in the city of Lucca on 28 August 2024 as part of the Bella Musica tour. This unique opportunity is made possible by a new collaboration with the Mozarteum Foundation.
