Foreword
Where talent becomes excellence. We have committed ourselves to this principle with the establishment of our mission statement in the past academic year. How successful we are with this is shown by our students every day, presenting themselves with their skills in over concerts, exhibitions, performances and other formats. It is a confirmation to us that the Salzburg population shows such great interest in our events . The city of Salzburg also offers our students an international audience - not least through the Salzburg Festival - in front of which they can prove themselves. The enormous productivity of our university is also demonstrated by the numerous prizes and awards that students and teachers have received, as well as by the rich range of published CD and book publications. Dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the Mozarteum was the first of four volumes on the history of the Mozarteum University, which was presented in June 2017 . A university of the arts like ours lives above all through outstanding teachers, and so we look back with pride on the fact that since the beginning of our interim rectorate in January 2017 we have, among other things, made twelve appointments and have been able to attract fantastic professors to the Mozarteum University (among them nine women!).
This almanac, which continues the tradition of annual reports, provides you - in addition to the intellectual capital statement - with all the facts and figures about our university. The new design should please the eye and entice you to immerse yourself - or find yourself - in the activities of our university.

As a continuation of the annual reports published since 1881, the Almanac has been published by Hollitzer Verlag since the 2010/11 academic year on the initiative of the then Vice-Rector Wolfgang Gratzer. Since 2014/15, the director of the Art ARCHIVE Room, Susanne Prucher, has acted as editori. Between 2000 and 2010, no annual reports were published, as the Mozarteum University reported directly to the Ministry during this period.
