Roland Mayer-Sams has been in contact with folk music since early childhood, so in the family were sung folk songs in several voices. In addition to a piano training, the way led him to the diatonic harmonica through the Brauchtumsgruppe Straßwalchen.

In addition, he passes on his knowledge as a speaker at numerous training courses in Austria, Bavaria and South Tyrol. Roland Mayer-Sams is artistically active as a soloist and as a member of the ensembles Tennriedlmusi and Hochwies Klarinettenmusi.
