Processing of the scientific and musical estate of Bernhard Paumgartner (2011/12)

In particular, numerous folders with correspondence as well as the annual reports of the Mozarteum University published in the reference period will be processed. In addition, overviews of available music manuscripts and musical editions of Paumgartner's works, of his writings and specialist literature, as well as a search for photographic material will be carried out.

In the course of the reappraisal, the correspondence, comprising over 20,000 letters, was recorded. Furthermore, all existing autographs of the composer as well as his entire scientific library were cataloged. In addition, work was started on the development of a digital media database on Salzburg music.

In the course of this work, the systematic digitization of all relevant holdings of the tape archive was completed. The current tasks are aimed on the one hand at the physical preservation of the decades-old holdings and on the other hand at the processing of around 40 shelf meters of various residual holdings, which have so far only been roughly indexed and which primarily contain Paumgartner's working material, but also isolated letters, compositions, autographs, printed music, sound recordings and books.
