The Institute for Gender Equality & Gender Studies oversees the announcement and awarding of prizes for theses and qualification projects, as well as funding for artistic/scholarlyprojects and publications in the fields of gender & queer studies, advanced feminism, and diversity studies. In addition, (co-)financing is offered for guest lectures, workshops, and presentations within courses.

Students at the Mozarteum University Salzburg who have used an innovative approach to address issues in the fields of gender & queer studies, advanced feminism, and/or diversity studies in outstanding theses and artistic graduation projects have until 30th November 2026 to apply for the GenDivers Prize:


Grants of up to €500 will be awarded to students of all disciplines whose innovative projects or initiatives demonstrate an understanding of scholarly/artistic engagement in the fields of gender & queer studies, advanced feminism, and diversity studies.


Publications of research work in the fields of gender & queer studies, advanced feminism, and diversity studies by all members of the Mozarteum University, especially young academics and artists, are supported with grants for printing and publication costs.


The Institute for Gender Equality and Gender Studies also offers lecturers at the Mozarteum University Salzburg the opportunity to expand their courses with lectures, workshops, or presentations by external experts on gender-sensitive and diversity-sensitive, normativity-critical, intersectional and/or violence-preventive content.
