    Tour of the Department of Fine Arts & Design 
    After a break due to corona, the Department of Fine Arts and Design is finally opening its workshops and studios again: from April 6 to 8, interested parties will have the opportunity to gain insights into the diverse work of young artists and to try their hand at numerous workshops. Concerts and performances round off the program. The Tour 2022 will be accompanied by a charity art sale for Ukraine.

It was recently launched at the Mozarteum University and is committed to greater fairness and equal opportunities in the professional lives of women at music and art universities.

    New University Council of the Mozarteum University Salzburg 
    The University Council of the Mozarteum University for the functional period 2023 to 2028 is now complete. Thomas Rietschel, M.A. and Sarah Wedl-Wilson, MA (Cantab) were elected by the Senate of the Mozarteum University. The Federal Ministry of Science and Research appointed Mag.a Silvia Grünberger and Univ.-Prof.in Mag.a Dr.in Rosa Reitsamer to the board. The four nominated members elected Em. o. Univ.-Prof. Mag. Dr. Karlheinz Töchterle as the fifth member, who was also elected chairman of the collegial body in May. Rosa Reitsamer was elected as vice-chairman.

    Alumnus Rupert Pföß has been working as a music teacher at Musikum Salzburg since 1996 and has been head of the folk music and harmonica department since 2012. He is also an extended board member of the Salzburger Volksliedwerk.     Five finalists competed for the coveted 20,000 euro The Sir Ian Stoutzker Prize 2022 (made up from 2021) at the Solitaire of the Mozarteum University yesterday (14 April). The evening's double winner was pianist Robert Bily, who enchanted both the high-calibre jury and the audience with a breathtaking interpretation of Ludwig van Beethoven's Waldstein Sonata (Piano Sonata No. 21 in C major op. 53), Claude Debussy's Images I and Siegfried Thiele's Perpetuum Mobile.

    The Mozarteum University congratulates its alumna Alexandra Karastoyanova-Hermentin on receiving the Grand Art Prize of the State of Salzburg 2024! With this award, which is being presented to a female composer for the first time this year, the State of Salzburg is sending a strong signal in favour of the importance and creativity of women in music. The Grand Art Prize is endowed with 20,000 euros and is awarded annually alternately in the fields of visual arts, literature, music and performing arts.
