Orff's 125th birthday, the 100th anniversary of Wilhelm Keller, and the 60th anniversary of the Orff Institute provide an opportunity in 2021 - one year late due to corona - to illuminate Carl Orff's pioneering work from an artistic and scholarly perspective.

The controversial UG Amendment 2021 was passed in the National Council on March 24, 2021, however, the Federal Council objected in its session on March 30, 2021. Thus, the amendment cannot enter into force for the time being.

We look with horror at the latest developments in Hungary's cultural and educational landscape: a government-appointed board of trustees has taken over the governing powers of the Budapest University of Theatre and Film Arts (SZFE) and abolished the university's autonomy.

In a meeting with the senate chairpersons of Austrian universities at the end of October, representatives of the Ministry of Education provided information about a planned amendment to the Universities Act. The intention to disempower the senates and thus massively restrict the constitutionally guaranteed freedom of science and art is evident.

The project includes four focal scientific considerations of university vocal training or the underlying vocal pedagogical frameworks.

In particular, the project addresses students, young adults, and career changers for whom access to knowledge about artistic professions and study opportunities is difficult due to their social and local conditions.

"Image+ Platform for Open Art Education" is an Austrian image and image research platform to improve the quality of teaching. Image+ will offer teachers at the participating universities as well as research institutions, artists, art teachers a comprehensive stock of high-quality digital image reproductions of artistic works, enriched with high-quality metadata and whose work information is scientifically secured.

In this work package, strategies are to be developed on how universities and museums can better know and benefit from each other. The HRSM project "Instrument Collections in Salzburg and Innsbruck" is exemplary. The aim is to develop a concept on how the potential between universities and museums could be better used, to increase knowledge transfer and to implement a contact person for museums at the universities.

The aim of the project is to develop professional opportunities and artistic co-productions exploring the ways diverse theatre traditions can effectively converse and contribute to quality artistic diversity and creativity in Europe. The objective of the Pl.ETA is therefore also to create a new artistic value out of the interaction between various theatre traditions and specialties.

Education as a Condition of Aesthetic Experience Aesthetic practice and critical faculties 01.03.2017 Research project The research project investigates the role that aesthetic education plays in the formation of critical perception, thinking and action skills. Using a phenomenological inventory of methods, a concentrated qualitative study will be conducted to determine how 14-year-old students from different educational backgrounds deal with situations of aesthetic experience and what they are willing to learn from them. Project Management iris Laner (Department of Fine Arts & Design ) Sponsor fWF | Hertha-Firnberg Program Duration 01.03.2017 until 31.12.2022 The study is guided by the question of how the students' aesthetic educational history interacts first with their general ability to have aesthetic experiences in the first place and to engage with an aesthetic situation, their aesthetic attitudes, and their understanding of aesthetic activity and agency. Building on this qualitative study, which is exploratory and exemplary in nature, as well as a comprehensive philosophical discussion, the research project aims to develop a differentiated understanding of the critical potential of aesthetic practice that takes into account the factual pedagogical conditions of aesthetic experience.

The project sets out to accomplish a data-driven study in musical interpretation, connecting information from human analyses of a number of performances by Karajan, with algorithmically derived data spanning several decades of recordings. Although the project is conceived as a case study on Karajan, we wish to demonstrate the promise of data-intensive, interdisciplinary approaches to musicological studies of expressive performance, and help in establishing this as a new open standard approach in empirical musicology.

Im Zuge der Aufarbeitung konnte die über 20.000 Briefe umfassende Korrespondenz erfasst werden. Ferner wurden alle vorhandenen Autographen des Komponisten sowie seine gesamte wissenschaftliche Bibliothek katalogisiert. Darüber hinaus wurden Aufbauarbeiten an einer digitalen Mediendatenbank zur Salzburger Musik gestartet. Im Zuge dieser Arbeiten konnte die systematische Digitalisierung aller relevanten Bestände des Tonbandarchivs vollendet werden. Die aktuellen Aufgaben zielen einerseits auf den physischen Erhalt der Jahrzehnte alten Bestände ab und andererseits auf die Aufarbeitung von rund 40 Regalmetern an bislang nur grob indizierten diversen Restbeständen, die vorrangig Arbeitsmaterial Paumgartners, aber auch vereinzelt Briefe, Kompositionen, Autographe, Notendrucke, Tonträger und Bücher enthalten. Artistic-scientific exchange in research and teaching between the two important instrument collections of the Salzburg Museum and the Ferdinandeum Innsbruck with the students and teachers of the MOZ, the PLUS and the PMU. Instruments of national importance are refurbished by specialists / restorers and reconstructed on the basis of CTs from the Division of Neoradiology (PMU). Students are encouraged to undertake university research. Establishment of a concert series using original instruments in the museums.

ENViL is creating the prototype of a "Common European Framework of Reference on Visual Literacy" (CEFR_VL). This reference framework describes competences that European citizens must have in the field of visual arts and applied arts (architecture and design) as well as in everyday visual culture if they are to participate in culture and society as responsible citizens.
