Maria Kalesnikava opens the Salzburg Festival
Maria Kalesnikava – Belarusian flutist, conductor, cultural manager, and Honorary Professor at Mozarteum University – delivered the opening speech at this year's Salzburg Festival. Her powerful reflections on freedom, responsibility, and the unifying force of art deeply moved the audience and highlighted the essential role of culture in challenging times.

Mozarteum University is now delighted to welcome Maria Kalesnikava back this autumn. During her stay, she will work on her doctoral dissertation, which explores the relationship between music and power. The project is supervised by Yvonne Wasserlos at the Interdisciplinary Institute for Political Music and Power.
