Welcome to the library of the Mozarteum University, the center of knowledge for students, teachers, researchers and all those interested.

Against oblivion: when Cécile Chaminade (1857-1944) looked back on her extremely productive life of some 400 compositions two years before her death, she seemed skeptical: "I hope not to be forgotten."

Every year, the Paul Roczek Award in the amount of 10,000 euros is presented by the Mozarteum University to students majoring in violin who have demonstrated exceptional talent, special achievement or unusual commitment to the artistic goals of the Mozarteum.

In homeschooling (visual education), great discussions arose with my students about contemporary art,(folk) music educator - Rupert Pföß  Alumnus Rupert Pföß has been working as a music teacher at MusikumSalzburg since 1996 and has been head of the folk music and harmonica department since 2012.His busy seminar and jury activities at various music weeks and music competitions enrich his everyday

The game project "Black Day," which was created with young people from the NMS Lehen as part of the interdisciplinary artistic as well as cultural and media education research project schnitt # stellen, received a Prix Ars Electronica Award U14. After a Prix Ars Electronica last year and the European Youth Culture Award in the Science and Research category, this is the third major award for the research project.

Four work contracts were awarded to gather more detailed information on the history and development of schlager, folk music, rock and pop music, and dance schools in the city of Salzburg in the run-up to the symposium "Those were the days. Salzburg's popular music cultures in the 1950s and 1960s". Soundtracks, newspaper clippings, and other materials were collected; the focus of the survey, however, was an oral history project, in the context of which numerous interviews were conducted and documented with eyewitnesses or people who had provided information.
