Teacher of Piano

Every year, the Paul Roczek Award in the amount of 10,000 euros is presented by the Mozarteum University to students majoring in violin who have demonstrated exceptional talent, special achievement or unusual commitment to the artistic goals of the Mozarteum.

With various ensembles, choirs and orchestras, the Mozarteum University offers a wide range of opportunities for students to gain valuable practical experience, to participate in large projects inside and outside the university and to work with renowned performers and conductors already during their studies.

Alek Niemiro, a graduate of the Thomas Bernhard Institute's directing programme, has been awarded the new Austrian Art Alumni Award for his project ‘Last Hour of Resistance’. Starting this year, the award will be presented annually by the BMFWF and Austrian art universities to selected outstanding graduates, and comes with a twelve-month scholarship worth €24,000. In two open workshop phases, students from the Department of Scenography and teachers from the Mozarteum University met with employees of the Red Bull Media House to examine and explore sounds in a minor key by W. A. Mozart and the fascinating visual worlds of the Red Bull Media House film and image archive.
