After the Senate and the University Council of the University Mozarteum Salzburg announced the re-election of Rector Prof.in Elisabeth Gutjahr in February 2021, her team was also re-elected in May 2021. Hannfried Lucke (Vice Rector for Arts), Mario Kostal (Vice Rector for Teaching) and Anastasia Weinberger (Vice Rector for Resources) will continue to steer the fortunes of the University alongside Elisabeth Gutjahr.

The history of women at the Mozarteum University is not linear - it tells of pioneers and structural barriers, of new beginnings and persistent change and can be experienced in an exhibition from June 2 to 18.

Memorizing music plays an important role for instrumentalists and has been little researched to date. Elisabeth Eder took on this topic in her dissertation and was able to identify or categorize 100 learning strategies and show aspects that support memorization.

As part of the International Summer Academy and numerous masterclasses, the renowned American pianist, teacher, Mozart researcher and Harvard professor Robert Levin has been a regular guest at the Mozarteum University for many years. From May, he will take up his teaching position at the Department of Keyboard Instruments. We are very much looking forward to it!

On October 1, six new university professors, mezzo-soprano Zoryana Kushpler, pianist Ya-Fei Chuang, guitarist Andrea De Vitis, innovation researcher and computer scientist Christopher Lindinger, violist Muriel Razavi and violist Sào Soulez Larivière, began their work at the Mozarteum University.
