The  documentation connects historical stations with present perspectives: Anthems give, reflect, represent identities - not only in political, although this has long been in the foreground, but also in geographical, social and (especially in Salzburg early on) cultural contexts. But at the same time, hymns stand for a bundle of identities that intertwine socially and emotionally. This becomes clear from the intervening existence of so-called 'secret' hymns, and it is encountered all the more directly in the present. Migration and integration give rise to a new diversity that can contribute to a mutual understanding of nationalities, regionalities, mentalities and preferences.
