Fausto Quintabà

Since September 2008 Fausto Quintabà has been a répétiteur at the Landeskonservatorium Innsbruck, and since October 2015 he has been at the Department of Voice at the Mozarteum University. He studied conducting with Tito Ceccherini and currently conducts the Orchestra Telfs. He is in demand as a soloist and pianist for new music and has given concerts in Austria, Germany, Serbia, Croatia, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Hungary, Zimbabwe, Iran, Colombia and Italy, among others, under the direction of Peter WesenAuer, Tito Ceccherini, Johannes Kalitzke, Gerhard Sammer, Francesco Angelico and David Danzmayr.
Fausto Quintabà (*1977 in Palermo) received piano lessons from the pianist and composer Marcello Biondolillo at the Vincenzo Bellini Conservatory there. After graduating with distinction, he won many national and international competitions. He attended master classes with Aquiles Delle Vigne, Milan Skampa, Andrea Nannoni and Rocco Filippini, as well as the Accademia Musici Artis in Rome and the Accademia Musicale Pescarese with Bruno Mezzena and Pierluigi Camicia. In 2000 he worked as a répétiteur and pianist with the orchestra of the Teatro Massimo Foundation in Palermo. With the clarinettist Gaspare Vittorio Buonomano he won first prizes in five international competitions in July 2004. In March 2007 he completed his second diploma in piano at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg with Claudius Tanski with distinction. He took part in numerous world premieres and made music with the Salzburg Classical Quintet, the Trio Broz, the Piano meet percussions, Wolfgang Holzmair, the Austrian Ensemble for New Music and the Ensemble Acrobat, of which he is the artistic director. In July 2005 and 2006 he played at the opening of the Salzburg Festival. As a répétiteur he worked with Alois Brandhofer, Joseph Steinböck, Peter Langgartner, Ulricke Sych, Claudia Visca, Elisabeth Wilke, Andreas Macco, David Frühwirt and with Peter Gülke at the Mozarteum Summer Academy. As a soloist, Fausto Quintabà has performed several times with piano concertos by Mozart, Beethoven, Hindemith, Shostakovich and Rachmaninov, among others. He has already recorded several CDs for the Urania and Orlando Wien labels with chamber music partners such as Lito Fontana, Hans Gansch, Dario Zingales, Damiano Scarpa and Francesca Canali.
