Austrian flautist Bernhard Krabatsch studied with Prof. Wolfgang Schulz at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Already a prizewinner of ‘Jugend musiziert’, he was also awarded the Vanausek Foundation's sponsorship prize for young musicians of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. His solo career has taken him to major festivals throughout Europe, including the Salzburg Festival, the Berlin and Vienna Festival Weeks, and the Lucerne Easter Festival, where he has performed with musicians such as Murray Perahia, Aurele Nicolet, Sándor Végh, and the Hagen Quartet.
Bernhard Krabatsch has been principal flautist of the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg since 1986 and has taught at the Mozarteum University since 2003.
