Everyday experiences in a city
In a direct conversation with the audience, a connection is drawn between Corina Forthuber's biographical station and the exhibition "Durch das Raue zu den Sternen" (Through the Rough to the Stars), which was shown at Kunstraum Fünfzigzwanzig in 2020. Corina Forthuber's everyday experiences in the city of Halle as well as the traces of a socialist social order, which can still be experienced in the city of Halle today, gave her important impulses for the transformation of her own design and research perspectives.
The exhibition "Durch das Raue zu den Sternen" (Through the Rough to the Stars) also impressively shows how current conditions and norms of contemporary art can be brought into view with the means of irony and humor in order to address prevailing values and behaviors. Corina Forthuber's many years of experience in a former socialist city in transition is set in relation to the exhibition dramaturgy.
